Strategic Thinking Track
CLP Crystal — Developing leaders through the discipline of chess and strategic reasoning
About the Strategic Thinking Track
The Strategic Thinking track uses chess as a powerful tool to develop leadership qualities in teenagers aged 13–17. Chess teaches patience, foresight, consequence-thinking, and the ability to remain calm under pressure — all essential traits of a transformational leader.
Fellows learn the fundamentals of chess alongside leadership principles, drawing parallels between the game and real-life decision-making. Mentored by CLP Gold Beacons of Excellence, participants grow in confidence, discipline, and strategic awareness.
The track culminates in a social impact project where participants apply strategic thinking to address a challenge in their community.
